CIVILKA
CIVILKA is an open social dialogue about the most important questions for development of civil society in Bosnia and Herzegovina. CIVILKA gathers actors from different sectors that will on open and brave way question the most sensitive and the most important questions regarding development and values of civil society in Bosnia and Herzegovina, that consideres to be pillar of democracy development in each country. Objective is to increase quality of public discussion for important topics, to achieve common understanding and to strenghten common front for defense of space for the activites of civil society.
CIVILKA is designed as annual conference which will be held in December every year.
Theme of first CIVILKA which will be held on December 12, 2022, is efficiency and effectiveness of projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Why this theme? In BiH’s post-war development, many projects have been implemented, with big asisstance of international community and state government on different levels. However, by observing general image in our country, it is clear that positive changes in our country are happening very slow or are not happening at all, hence development of BiH and democracy is on unacceptable low level. Why do we have more outputs than results in projects and how to achieve better use of fundings that taxpayers of EU, BiH and other states are allocating for projects that are implementing in Bosnia and Herzegovina? How responsible are civil society organizations for this situation and can we more contribute to the development of BH society? Participants of CIVILKA will commonly find answers on these questions and offer concrete suggestions for increase of project effectiveness in BiH.
Centar za promociju civilnog društva (CPCD)
Centar za promociju civilnog društva (CPCD) is one of the oldest civil society organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, that is realiable and important support to other organizations, but also to citizens, authorities, academic community, international community and media. Independent, professional and stable organization that in more than 25 years of existence has implemented more than 150 projects. We stand for civil sector strenghtening, through interconnection, introduction of standards, innovative capacity strenghtening programs, financial and technical support to civil society organizations – not only in BiH but also in the Western Balkans region. CPCD was the first one to gather associations and foundations around one idea in 2004 when process of establishment of institutional cooperation between government and non-governmental sector has started. Adter signing Agreement on Cooperation between Council of Ministers BiH and NGO in 2007.. we launched process of signing similar agreements on local level and we have mediated for its signing in more than 60 municipalities through BiH. GROZD Campaign is the biggest campain ever implemented in BiH whereby CPCD held more than 100 public debates across BiH, where citizens have determined its priorities. Citizens platform has been created upon those priorities and develivered to all political parties that participted in 2006 General elections. CPCD also initiatied the establishment of first Quality Assuurance System for NGO sector in 2009 while it also created different tools for assessment and selfassessment of organizations. Since 2018, CPCD is accredited center for adult education.
